Sandra Maurer, MA, LPCC, PMH-C, E-RYT

Specialties: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Reproductive Mental Health Specialist, Certified Perinatal Mental Health Clinician

Sandra Maurer, MA, E-RYT (She/Her/Hers) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and reproductive mental health specialist whose work centers on motherhood, trauma, and systemic injustice. With more than a decade of experience as both a doula and therapist, she has supported hundreds of individuals and families through pregnancy, parenting, pregnancy loss, and abortion within a U.S. healthcare landscape often shaped by misinformation and fragmented systems of care.

Grounded in feminist therapy and reproductive justice, she develops trainings for perinatal providers, writes on maternal mental health, and advocates for systemic change. Her work blends clinical expertise, lived experience, and cultural critique to reframe mental health as a collective issue rather than an individual burden. As a mother, she brings personal insight, honesty, and compassion to the ongoing question of what it means to care.

In addition to serving as Director of the Clinic for Reproductive Mental Health in Minnesota, she focuses on writing, including her forthcoming project American Motherload; advocacy through MMHLA; professional training and consultation; and the publication of her first book. Through these intersecting roles, she works to advance more just, informed, and compassionate approaches to reproductive and maternal mental health.
